Abortion

Last week Anne and I had a moving experience.  We saw our baby clearly for the first time. Anne went to the hospital for an ultra-sound scan.  Afterwards we looked at the pictures together.  There it is: our child, a little human being, eyes, nose, ears, fingers, toes.  Anne told me that at one point she could see the whole spine – every individual bone.

The 100 Greatest Britons

Why are we so fascinated by lists? As a teenager I made lists endlessly.  Lists of people mostly.  My fifteen all-time Welsh rugby greats.  The ten preachers I would most like to hear.  It’s a game that many people play.  And the BBC is playing it at the moment.  Last year the BBC carried out a poll of 30,000 people and asked them to nominate the Greatest Britons of all time.  The resulting list of “the 100 Greatest Britons” has been published.  …

Which Bible translation?

For many years we have made use of the New International Version. I bought a copy when it was first published back in 1978.  When this church began meeting in 1981, we used it from the beginning.

Fasting

Have you marked Saturday 13th July in your diary? The office-bearers have agreed to set that day aside as a day of special prayer for the church. We would want as many of you as possible to join us in that.
