For Ezekiel, exile from Jerusalem to Babylon was shocking and traumatic. He had lost so much. Could he ever again know joy or hope or usefulness? Yes, but only if he found a new vision of God.

We would see Jesus (24:13-35)
The two on the road to Emmaus were heartbroken and bewildered. What was their great need? To see Jesus. But they could not recognise him until their eyes were opened. What is our greatest need? To recognise Jesus in every situation.
