Peter told his readers that they must grow in Christian character. But that growth is rooted in grace, it comes through the knowledge of Christ, and it brings Him glory.
Paul said many things that were easy to misunderstand - and the false teachers were quick to quote him. But Paul's teaching was in perfect agreement with Paul's - and with all the other Scriptures.
The Lord Jesus is very patient. He holds back the judgment of the ungodly. He holds back chastisement from his people. He gives us time to repent and be saved. But his patience must not be abused.
Peter is drawing to a close. It's time to draw the threads of his letter together. What is the big message he must leave with his readers?
We are waiting for new heavens and a new earth. But where will our home be? In heaven or on earth?
