Made for Man: The Sabbath Today

I think the question of the Sabbath is crucially important. If believers take on board the idea that they don’t need to set apart one day in seven as “holy to the Lord”, they are throwing away one of God’s greatest gifts.



We moved from North Wales when I was seven years old. But my memories of life there are very vivid. Plodding to school through the snow during the winter of 1963. How reliable are my memories?


Time with God

Do you remember the resolutions you made at this time last year? I would guess that many of us resolved at the beginning of 2015 that every day we would have a “quiet time”. We told ourselves that this would be the year when we at last would establish a pattern of daily Bible-reading and prayer.


It means what it says

I recently re-read an old and familiar friend: J.R.R Tolkien’s ‘The Lord of the Rings’ for the first time in 15 years. It’s one of the most well-known and widely read books in the English language and in consequence many theories have been devised about it.


Five Points

I am encouraged by the feedback I’ve had about the Sunday morning series that’s just come to an end. It’s the first time I’ve preached a series on “the Five Points”.
