Last Sunday was by any standard an eventful day for us. Independence Day. The day when the fellowship in Charlesworth was to be constituted as an independent church.

Sunday School

We’ve had a Sunday-school ever since we began. Right at the beginning, it was organised just for the children of the church. But for many years, we’ve made it our goal to draw in children from unchurched families. And until recently, we have always had such youngsters coming in. The numbers have gone up and down. Sometimes we’ve had a regular fifteen or so. Sometimes it’s been down to two or three. But in the last few months, we’ve not had any unchurched children coming in regularly.

Why missionaries?

Why is it important that we maintain an interest in the cause of the gospel overseas? Do we need to spend time listening to reports from our missionary friends? Don’t we have enough to do here at home? Millions of people in our own country have never heard the true gospel. Can we afford to put time, energy, resources, prayer into supporting Christians and churches across the world?
