2 Corinthians (127)
If a film-maker had made a film of Paul's life, the viewers would have seen Paul as a tragic figure. But no documentary maker could have filmed what was going on in his soul!
Paul describes it, explains it, shows the impact it can have, and points to its final goal.
Paul died a thousand deaths in the service of the Lord Jesus. Yet, like the psalmist, he continued to believe and speak in the darkest hours.
Paul had to live through the pains of death every day. But the result was that others were seeing and experiencing the risen power of Christ.
Paul the apostle carried with him Jesus's death and manifested Jesus's life. Is such experience just for apostles? Or should every believer expect the same?
