2 Corinthians (127)
The false apostles proclaimed Jesus. But they didn't want to talk about the cross. Paul preached Christ crucified - and so must we.
The Corinthian believers were being drawn away from Jesus, not by a false God but by the alternative Jesus preached by the 'super-apostles'. No wonder Paul was jealous on Jesus's behalf!
In fashionable Corinth Paul was viewed as a fool. But fool or not, he had a vital role to play.
Paul wasn't afraid to speak about the authority that Jesus had given him. But his delight was not in his authority but in the Lord Jesus himself.
God assigned Corinth to Paul and Paul to Corinth. God still assigns tasks to his people, and people to their tasks.
