What does it mean to call God ‘The Rock’?
Every aspect of God as the Rock comes to its full culmination in New Jerusalem, the World to Come.
Jesus is the great Master Builder, building the temple of his Church. But his people are privileged both to build with him and to become the rock-cut living stones making up the temple.
The LORD is a Rock of Refuge for his people but for his enemies... attacking a rock is futile and terrifying.
How did David survive through a life of such appalling and continuous suffering, danger, problems and pain? Only by finding God to be his place of refuge – his Rock.
Refreshing words: God is the Rock. Unchangeably just and righteous, source of all blessing and good, the place of refuge for those who trust him.
